Business Association

was formed in 1997 with help from the Parish Council and the Rural Development Commission. Our aim is to work closely with the Parish Council and the Community to bring about a better environment for all concerned and to act as a voice for our members, representing village businesses, when and where required.

We have some 60 member businesses that currently pay an annual membership fee of £25, ranging from financial advisers to builders and beauticians to general stores.
These businesses are all Parish based in St. Osyth, Point Clear or Chisbon Heath.

We have a committee of 9 members including our Chairman and Secretary and meet regularly on the first Wednesday of the month, with the exception of the summer months of June, July and August. The Annual General Meeting is held in January and other General Meetings in May and September.

To date we have conducted a number of successful projects.
St. Osyth Promotional Leaflet.
15,000 of these leaflets were printed and distributed throughout East Anglia.

Local Business Directory.
2,000 of these were produced and copies given to every household in St. Osyth.

A Business Association Logo.
The Logo (see below) has been produced to be used by members for display purposes and to show their commitment to the village and the community.

Action with the Parish Council.
Consultation and discussion has resulted in agreement with Essex County Council Highways Department, who will remove of some of the double yellow lines in Clacton Road.

On Sunday 3rd December 2000 our members are holding a ‘TRADE FAIR’ in St. Osyth Village Hall, which is open to the public and all are invited to visit us! Remember our motto regarding village businesses in general:
                     “USE IT.  DON’T LOSE IT”
