Gritters prepare to battle sub-zero temperatures

Gritter crews are preparing for a busy week with snowy and icy weather forecast across the county.

Cllr Ian Grundy, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for Highways, said: “Our Essex Highways teams are well prepared for the wintry weather that has been forecast over the coming days.

“Gritter drivers are on standby with extra shifts. We get constantly updated national, regional and very local weather forecasts to help make sure we are ready for whatever the weather throws at us.”

There’s still time to give your views on plans to improve the A127/A130 Fairglen Interchange.
